Catania welcomes a new chapter devoted to contemporary art.
Starting October 25, 2025, the baroque elegance of Palazzo Valle opens its doors to “From Burri to Cattelan” — a dialogue between eras, materials, and visions that traces fifty-five years of Italian art.
The 53 works on loan from the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, in collaboration with the Puglisi Cosentino Foundation, create a journey through the great transformations of our time.
From Alberto Burri to Renato Guttuso, from Fausto Melotti to Mimmo Paladino, and up to Maurizio Cattelan — a narrative made of matter and thought, balance and provocation, revealing the vibrant evolution of Italian art from the 1970s to today.
Curated by Renata Cristina Mazzantini and Gabriele Simongini, the exhibition intertwines the Roman museum’s collection with that of the Puglisi Cosentino Foundation, marking the beginning of a three-year collaboration that will bring to Catania new exhibitions of international significance.
Just a few steps from Habitat Boutique Hotel, the timeless architecture of Palazzo Valle becomes a space for reflection and beauty — a place where art meets history and speaks to the present through the eyes of its creators.
