Today, behind that doorway, you step into a world with the slow pace of hospitality and the wide breath of the city.
Habitat didn’t originate on paper, but from cohabitation: shared staircases, Signora Vera waving from the ground floor, conversations in the piazzette nearby, and life flowing under the balconies of Piazza Teatro Massimo Bellini, in the beating heart of the historic center.
An 1800s building never silenced, but listened to—room by room, landing by landing—in a slow, conscious restoration.
Today, it’s a boutique design hotel—and much more: a living organism, an urban hub where architecture, hospitality, and a contemporary narrative of Sicily coexist.
An entrance that opens onto a courtyard, a living room that welcomes travelers, a project that continues to evolve without losing its soul.
Here, the past lives alongside the present, and comfort meets memory.

SICILIAN IDENTITY, ESSENTIAL DESIGN
Habitat was born in 2014 from an intuition turned vision.
Marianna Nociforo and Antonio Spera, architects and founders, chose not to impose models but to listen to the place.
Sicilian identity reveals itself in the details: in local materials, natural textures, and colors evoking lava stone, wood, and Mediterranean light.
The design is essential but never cold, constantly in dialogue with the building’s memory and the rhythm of the city.
Habitat tells the story of Sicily in a new way: with depth and respect, without excess or folklore.
